words to live by.......

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming, "WOO HOO what a ride!!"

Boo Hoo!

I went to the doctors on Wednesday hoping to hear great news on my arm, because the arm has been getting stronger and I don't nearly have the intense pain, it mainly aches.  I do wake up with a stiff arm, but after 15 months and 3 surgery that is to be expected, right?  Well, the x-rays where taken and low and behold my doctors comes in and ask,"well, how have you been feeling?"  Me, "really good".  Doctor, "well, the break is not healing and we need to do surgery, again."  I guess you can imagine my surprised look......
She assures me my recovery time will be quick, because the incision will be small.  I am thinking well that's good.  The she hits me with the bomb........
They have to take the bone marrow from my hip because my body rejected the synthetic marrow they used in the last surgery!  Great, now not only will my arm hurt so will my hip!  Whats next, arm removal and installation of a bionic arm?  Well, all I can say is........no I cant say that, it isn't very nice........oh nuts!!  I am trying to look on the bright side of this, but I really can't locate one....maybe you can help me find it..............

At last!!

Well, it has taken awhile, but I am all caught up!!!  My husband went out of town on Sunday and I did a non-stop sewing marathon.  I owed so many blocks that I could have made a quilt....well maybe not that many but I did owe 6!!!
This is July's block for LDQB (Long Distance Quilting Bee) I call this America's Favorite Past Time. (Sorry it took so long!!)

This is August's LDQB I call Keeping Time. (Not quite so bad!)

This is September's LDQB I call Fruit Basket (right on time!!)

August block for Hive B of OYGB (Orange You Glad Bee).

September's block for Hive B OYGB!

And finally.......I had to have this mailed by the 1st of October in order to have it included in a group quilt for Civil War Quilt 2011.  This is the Missouri Star!

It certainly feels good to be on top of things again.  I promise never to be THAT behind again.  It was getting to the point of being embarrassed to even get on flickr because I was so behind.  See I am not that bad of a guild member.

Now to share a few pictures of Whiskers, I will tell you ahead of time, he did not get hurt, it just looks like he did!

He was asleep, yes asleep!  I had my husband run down and check on him after I took the picture...........

See.....all better, he was just being lazy!

So now that I am all caught up on sewing I need to continue to get my sewing room in order, I really don't know if that ever is going to happen.  I keep finding the strangest things in there.  Funny how it became the catch all room!  You know what they say......out of sight out of mind!  So true.

So until we meet again, be safe, be kind and do the things that make you smile!

Monday, again...........

Long before I retired, waking up on Monday was pretty darn hard.........sometimes I hated getting up so bad I would cover my head and head to the other end of the bed in hopes of no one finding me......and of course that didn't work!  So, many many many years ago I coined the phrase "Gotta make through Monday to get to Friday to enjoy the weekend!"  Monday never seem so bad after that.  Even retired Monday can be pretty.......well......ugh!
Bell's (Aunt) NeNe (Shayne) bought her this cutest little "ballerina" outfit, just couldn't resist in snapping a few (hundred) photos!!  She is such a happy baby!

Now, ain't she just about the cutest baby you have every seen!  Now I know I must sound prejudice, but really I' m not! (giggle)  She is also a very smart baby too.........

Ok, I guess at this point you are all ready to hear about something else........so.....

I have been working very hard at getting caught up on projects that are owed to my internet guilds, and getting my sewing room back to "normal".  After a full year of "things" being put in the sewing room, you just cant believe the lost items that have been found.  I have to admit it feels good to be sewing again, but I feel awful that so many friends have had to endure my tardiness!  But soon, I promise I will be caught up and on top of things once again!

My kids have help by helping me re-arrange my sewing machines, and cutting table.  Have built some well needed shelving for my "small" collection of fabrics and help tote up the few scraps I have.  I promise to share pictures when it is complete.  Until then, I am off to get caught up so that I am not put on the "bad" guild friend list!!!

Oh deer!!

For the last several weeks we have seen many, many deer, does, fawns, and a couple of bucks with good size racks too!  They are usually in the field about 200 or so yards away and we use the binoculars to see them......last week I shared some that came very close to the barn.  Look what I have for you today................

These two little ones weren't 10 feet out my front door!  I actually stood on the porch to take the picture and I guess they either didn't see me or didn't care!

I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I did taking them!
