words to live by.......

Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming, "WOO HOO what a ride!!"

Wow......it's been awhile!

Its hard to believe that I have not updated my blog since the 7th.......have I really been that busy?  Well, I guess I have!  So let me try to get you all caught up on me and my world.  I have been feeling so much better since the surgery, I actually used my rotary cutter, for the first time in over a year, it almost brought tears to my eyes.  Ok, Ok it did bring me to tears!  I have put up the extra pair of scissors and even went as far as buying me some new blades!

I am really close to finishing one of my UFOs.......and my son Jay is happy about that.  He is going through some hard times right now and a little comfort from Mom is just the ticket, for a warm and toasting night sleep.

This is me (well my hands!) finishing the binding.  It is a sudoku quilt.  I hate to admit I started this one almost 2 years ago, before I broke my right humerus, I really have no REAL excuse why this did not get finished!  When it was put in the tote of abandon "goodies" it just needed the binding stitched.  Yes, I am a bad girl......but hey it's  almost finished, all it needs is the label and a hug from Jay and its complete!

Now, Shayne, well she made butter, and she couldn't have been any happier and so proud of herself.  I guess it took her (with a hand crank butter maker) about 45 minutes, but when she was done, well, take my word for it it was well worth it.  Some of the sweetest tasting butter I have ever had.

This, some heavy cream and lots and lots and lots of turning and you have the most incredibly sweet butter, yum!  Good job "farmer" Shayne!

So, that's alittle of what went on since the last blog, more to follow.......Jay is coming over for a visit on Saturday, so I will get a picture of him with his quilt.  Until then I will leave you with this:

My 3 beautiful grandsons!
